I met my fiancé Ben Graham-Helwig in a volleyball class at GW in 2010. We bonded over our love of playing sports (we went on to compete on numerous co-rec intramural teams together) and most importantly our love of GW basketball.
We lived in DC for a few years after we both graduated and eventually moved to Ben’s home town of San Francisco, where Ben proposed to me through a crossword puzzle in June 2017. Our wedding will be in Napa in July 2018 and we are challenging guests to a crossword puzzle about our lives at dinner with one of the questions asking how many states we’ve seen GW’s basketball team play in. The answer is six (and counting… here’s hoping for another Hawaii tournament!). We also have six GW alumni in our wedding party!
