Colonial Love Q & A: Eric & Bonnie

Thanks to Eric Keiles, GWSB BA ’87, and Bonnie Keiles, GSEHD BA ’88, for sharing their story with us!

Where did you meet on campus? The bar called The Exchange at 17th and G.

What were your first impressions of each other? I was hot for her red hair — she thought I was creepy — we were just 19 years old!

What #onlyatGW moment did you share as a couple? Two I can think of: One romantic walk to the monuments where we sat at the back of the Lincoln Memorial talking about life while we looked over the Potomac. The second, the second I fell in love with her in her room at Mitchell Hall.

Tell us about your last visit to GW together or how GW has remained important in your life. We obviously wanted both our children to go to GW and had campus visits a few years back. GW is where we met so it always will be a special place. We sometimes go to alumni events in Philly.

Anything else you want to share? We are both proud to have gone there — it seems the reputation of GW grows stronger every year!
