Alumnus Recognized as “Educator of the Year”

Chuck Fann, CCAS MS ’84, has been selected as Hutchinson Community College‘s 2014 Dragon Educator of the Year. Fann is an instructor of criminal justice at HCC, which is located in Hutchison, KS.

Fann was selected from nominees from all academic areas by the HCC Student Government Association for the honor. The instructors are nominated by HCC students, and then complete a selection and personal interview process conducted by SGA.

Fann received his honors at the HCC commencement on May 9. Fann will retire this May with 24 years as an instructor and coordinator of the Criminal Justice program.

Fann began his career at the college in 1990; during his tenure, many of his graduates have gone on to distinguished careers in the law enforcement and corrections field throughout the state of Kansas.  He has  served on numerous campus committees and groups during his time at the College.

Fann holds a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Central Missouri, a master’s of arts from Central Michigan University and a master’s of forensic science from GW.
