Alumnus, now GW Faculty, Publishes Predictive Analytics Book

Anasse Bari, SEAS MS ’10, CERT ’12, PhD ’12, a faculty member in GW’s computer science department, recently celebrated the publication of his book Predictive Analytics For Dummies.

Bari co-authored the book with fellow alumnus, Mohamed Chaouchi, SEAS MS ’05, and software engineer Tommy Jung.

Predictive analytics is a branch of data mining that helps predict probabilities and trends. Predictive Analytics For Dummies explores the power of predictive analytics and how readers can use it to make valuable predictions for their business, or in fields such as advertising, fraud detection, politics, among others.

Topics include using structured and unstructured data, building models, creating a predictive analysis roadmap, setting realistic goals and budgeting.
