On Sept. 26, 2013, GW honored five alumni at the 77th Distinguished Alumni Achievement Awards ceremony. Established in 1937 by the George Washington Alumni Association (GWAA), this award is presented annually to alumni who have obtained notable success in their chosen profession, bringing honor to both themselves and their alma mater.

The Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award is the highest form of recognition given by the university, and the GWAA, to a GW/MVC graduate on an annual basis. The GWAA also presents the Recent Alumni Achievement Award to alumni who have graduated in the last ten years and have attained notable achievements in their field of endeavor.

In 2013, the Distinguished Alumni Achievement award was given to a unique group of alumni who are making a difference through their professions and passions:

Victoria Clarke, CCAS BA ’82
