Alumna’s Travel Business Offers Unique Costa Rica Experiences

Ann Becker

Recently, we profiled Ann Becker, ESIA MA ’76, and how she transformed her love of Costa Rica and its culture into a customized travel business.

In case you missed the article in GW Magazine, “Travel with Ann” has been offering various group trips to Costa Rica since 2006.  Since leading her first trip, Ann has returned to Costa Rica more than 25 times.

“I’ve always asked myself how I can create work related experiences that really allow me to pursue my joys with passion and purpose,” Ann says.

Ann’s next adventure—the fourth annual Spanish/Cultural Immersion Trip—will take place from April 26 – May 4, 2014.

Open to all language levels, this trip offers travelers the chance to increase their Spanish knowledge, live with a host family and truly experience Costa Rica’s vibrant culture.

Ann partners with Personalized Spanish, a boutique school that has a long history of immersion programs and experiences, to create the Spanish/Cultural Immersion Trip.

Participants will explore two very different regions during the trip: Costa Rica’s Central Highlands, including San Jose and the magnificent rain forest of the southern Osa Peninsula.

The Spanish/Cultural Immersion Trip is for curious, open-minded and active travelers who are looking to experience different cultures, customs, and ecosystems.  As Ann says, “What better way to learn a country’s language than through its culture and its food!”
