Jayne Morris-Crowther, GSEHD BA ’74

Jayne Morris-Crowther Class NoteJayne Morris-Crowther, GSEHD BA ’74, authored a book entitled The Political Activities of Detroit Clubwomen in the 1920s that has been published by Wayne State University Press.

The book details the political activism of women in the early 20th century to affect change in areas like public works, child labor regulation, and education reform. Morris-Crowther also describes the change in female political participation after the passage of the 19th Amendment and their challenges to influence public policy and compete in elections at the municipal and state level.

Morris-Crowther is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Delaware and Rowan College in New Jersey.
