Art Kojoyian, CCAS AA ’51 & GSEHD BS ’52

Art Kojoyian, CCAS AA ’51 & GSEHD BS ’52, will receive the Contribution to Amateur Football Award from the National Football Foundation and the National Capital Region chapter as a part of their annual scholar athlete banquet. The banquet will be held on April 17 at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA. Kojoyian has coached high school sports for 62 years.  He graduated from GW, where he was a four year starter in football and received a bachelor’s degree in education.  He also received a master’s degree in science at the University of Miami in Ohio. Kojoyian taught biology and coached in Massachusetts for 32 years before he relocated to Virginia.  He is the Massachusetts High School Football Coach’s Hall of Fame, Massachusetts High School Wrestling Coach’s Hall of Fame, and Newton South High Athletic Hall of Fame for both football and wrestling. He also coached at Westboro High School, St. John’s High School, and in Fairfax County, VA, he has coached at South Lakes High School, James Madison High School and is currently still coaching at Paul VI high school.
