Heather Higginbottom, CCAS MA ’99

Heather Higginbottom, CCAS MA ’99 has been named Counselor to Secretary of State John Kerry. Following the 2008 presidential election, President Obama named Higginbottom deputy director of the White House Domestic Policy Council. In 2011, she became deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget. Prior to her work with the Obama administration, Higginbottom was Kerry’s legislative director from 1999 to 2004 and then founded and headed the American Security Project, a national security think tank.  Read the full article in the Washington Post.
