DC Alumni: When is your dinner?

Are you a GW alumnus/a in the DC area who wants to give back and get involved with current students? Check out the Dinner with Alumni Information Session & Reception on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Dinner with Alumni is a dynamic program that pairs alumni hosts with groups of current GW students who want to learn from experienced members of the GW community. Over dinner, hosts share career advice, personal interests, and all swap stories about the GW student experience.

“Students and alumni have a lot to learn from each other—current students bring a modern perspective to the table, and alumni provide experiential wisdom and guidance,” says current student Jessica Hoffner, SPHHS ’14. “We’re fortunate to have this program!”

The March 6 information session is for all alumni interested in learning more about the Dinner with Alumni program, as well as for current and former dinner hosts to meet and mingle.

At this session, you will:

  • Learn more about the Dinner with Alumni program.
  • Meet and mingle with fellow alumni dinner hosts.
  • Find a potential alumnus/a to co-host a dinner (especially great for young alumni!).
  • Meet the staff behind the Dinner with Alumni program.
  • Ask questions and hear from past hosts.
  • Grab a quick bite to eat on the way home from work!

Past alumni hosts have said, “This is a program that would have been very useful when I was a student…I felt I was playing a key mentoring role and was able to provide information that the students may not have found elsewhere.”

This year, 28 dinners are scheduled throughout March and April, with 230+ students signed up to attend dinners in March alone.

Don’t miss your chance to learn about this exciting program—mark your calendar for March 6!

Light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided at the reception.  RSVP here.  For more information about Dinner with Alumni, contact Leanne Aurich: [email protected] or 202-994-2610.
