Alumnae receive 2012 Women Who Mean Business Award

Two GW alumnae will be honored at the 9th annual Women Who Mean Business award program on Nov. 15 in Washington, DC. The event, presented by the Washington Business Journal and Capital One Bank, recognizes the region’s most influential business women of 2012.

Among this year’s recipients are university trustee Deborah Ratner Salzberg, CCAS BA ’75 and Grace Speights, LAW JD ’82. Salzberg is president of Forest City Washington Inc., and Speights is a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.

The award is given to women in a variety of industries and professions, and honors those who have made a difference in their communities and are leaving a mark on the Washington-area community as a whole. Recipients either work for a business or organization based in Washington, DC or one of the following jurisdictions: City of Alexandria, VA, Arlington County, VA, Fairfax County, VA, Loudoun County, VA, Prince William County, VA, Montgomery County, MD, Prince George’s County, MD.

The awardees were considered on three criteria: professional accomplishments, community leadership as well as awards and milestones. A full list of recipients is available here.
