Margaret Fisher, GSEHD MA ’51

Margaret Fisher, GSEHD MA ’51, an arts educator who taught at Northern Virginia Community College and the adult program of the Arlington County public schools, died June 7 at the age of 90.

Fisher was a painter, and she taught art at Northern Virginia Community College and at senior centers in the 1970s and the 1980s. From 1981 to 2001, she was an art teacher with the adult education program of the Arlington school system. From 1996 to 1998, she taught art at Aurora House and Argus House, counseling centers for teens in Northern Virginia.

Fisher was the widow of Rep. Joseph L. Fisher, a Democrat who served Northern Virginia in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1975 to 1981.
