Sydney Savion, GSEHD EdD ’09, a retired military officer and member of the GW Alumni Veterans, published a new book, Camouflage to Pinstripes: Learning to Survive in Civilian Culture (Brown Books Publishing Group).
Savion, whose work while at GW and current work are dedicated to helping veterans, says that the journey of starting anew for many service members proves quite challenging.
Released in February, Camouflage to Pinstripes captures the essence of the lived experience of a culture change from military to civilian life through real people and real research, and provides practical advice for those attempting to start anew.
