E. Stratford Smith, LAW JD ’44, LLM ’49, a lawyer and professor, died at age 95 on Dec. 25, 2011.
Smith was born in Brigham City, Utah and pursued his bachelor’s degree at the University of Utah and served as communications officer before completing his law and master’s degrees at George Washington University.
Throughout his career, Smith worked with the Federal Communications Commission, the National Community Television Association, and started his own private practice. After retiring in the late 1970’s, he went on to work as a professor of telecommunications law at Penn State.
