Alexander Law Kivlen, GWSB MS ’68

Alexander Law Kivlen, GWSB MS ’68, a retired navy captain, died Feb. 17 at the age of 84. Capt. Kivlen served in the Navy for 22 years, flying fighter jets from the decks of aircraft carriers, and also served as a personnel officer in during the Vietnam War. His decorations included two Legion of Merit awards.

Capt. Kivlen was born in Pennsylvania and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. He received master’s degrees in personal administration and business administration/computer systems, from GW and the Naval Postgraduate School in California, respectively.
