Albert A. Heckman, ESIA MS ’67, a retired Coast Guard Rear Admiral, died Jan. 16 at the age of 93. Heckman is a native of Pennsylvania and a 1942 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn. He served in the North Atlantic, North Africa and the Pacific during WWII, and was commander of a Coast District in Connecticut as his final active-duty assignment in 1974. His decorations included the Coast Guard Commendation Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. From 1975-1982, he worked for an engineering organization in California as a project manager and project director.
