Julian von Fumetti, ESIA MA ’04

Julian von Fumetti, ESIA MA ’04, moved from London to Toronto, Canada, in July 2011 where he was appointed vice president of corporate affairs at Barrick Gold Corporation. Barrick is the gold industry leader, with a portfolio of 26 operating mines and advanced exploration and development projects located across five continents. In this role, working collaboratively with his regional business unit colleagues, Mr. Fumetti is responsible for managing Barrick’s relationships with key public policy and regulatory decision makers. He has extensive international experience in government relations, including several years for mining company BHP Billiton, where he led the public affairs function in Europe and Russia. Previously, he worked for a major consulting firm in Brussels where he advised public and private sector clients on public affairs matters involving European Union institutions and European member state governments. He is a former chief of staff for a member of the European Parliament.
