The George Washington University Department of Athletics and Recreation recently announced that eight inductees will comprise the GW Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2012.
During the Homecoming game on Feb. 18, when the men’s basketball team takes on the Hawks of Saint Joseph’s, six Colonials alumni – Mike Bassett, GWBS BBA ‘02; Tina Brown, CCAS BA ‘90, MFA ‘96; Ingrid (Wicker) McCree, CCAS BA ‘89; Chris Monroe, CCAS BA ’04; Shawnta Rogers, CCAS BA ‘11 (who played 1995-99); and the late Jim Tarr, CCAS BA ‘60 – will be inducted to the GW Athletic Hall of Fame.
In addition, Jack Kvancz, who served as GW’s director of athletics for 17 years and currently acts as a special advisor to the Athletics and Recreation Department, and Joe McKeown, former women’s basketball coach from 1989-2008, will also be inducted.
