On a blustery but sunny Sunday morning, more than 6,400 graduates joined the GW alumni family, now 275,000 strong worldwide.

As estimated 25,000 members of the GW community—graduates, friends, family, faculty and staff, and fellow alumni—gathered on the National Mall for the university’s 191st Commencement, which was highlighted by blue skies and high winds, remarks from U.S. Sen. Cory A. Booker (D-N.J.), and a sense of accomplishment understood by every GW graduate.

Weren’t able to attend this year’s Commencement ceremonies or stream it live on the GW Commencement site? Our friends at GW Today have got you covered:

  • Read the recap of Sunday’s ceremony (including the remarks from Sen. Booker who encouraged graduates to “stay faithful”) or watch the full ceremony here.
  • Get a look at Commencement from the viewpoint of this year’s graduates and their families.

And don’t miss out on the welcome message from GW Alumni Association (GWAA) President Jeremy Gosbee, CCAS BA ’98, GWSB MBA ’02—whether you joined the GW alumni family on Sunday or sixty years ago, the connections and support are just as strong and meaningful.
