GWAA Seeks Applicants for Board of Directors

Are you an alumni leader?

The GW Alumni Association (GWAA) is looking for alumni volunteers to serve on the GWAA Board of Directors as Member-At-Large and President-Elect.

GWAA board members help develop strategy for the association, guide programming decisions and gain insight into the university’s alumni relations and development programming.

“I was very involved on campus during college, and after graduation I felt something was missing. I began reconnecting with the university again by attending young alumni events and GW basketball games,” says Kristine Esposo, CCAS BA ’07. “Serving on the GWAA board has allowed me to come full circle — giving back to my alma mater while continuing my Colonial spirit.”

Board members are expected to attend three regular meetings and one retreat each academic year, and to serve on a committee. At-large members serve for a term of three years, starting in June 2014.

The GWAA is seeking alumni of all backgrounds, class years, regions, school affiliations and interests to share their perspective on the Board of Directors. To learn more about service on the GWAA board, or to submit an application, please visit the nominations website.

All nominations must be received no later than March 7, 2014.

The Nominations & Governance Committee will review applications and conduct interviews in the following weeks, and those nominated to serve will be invited to attend the GWAA Annual Meeting in June.
