Timothy Bertschy, LAW JD ’77

Timothy L. Bertschy, LAW JD ’77, a partner in Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen, with offices in Peoria and Chicago, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Illinois Bar Foundation (IBF), the charitable arm of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA).

Bertschy concentrates his practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation, employment, and local government law.

A past president of the ISBA and Illinois Township Attorney’s Association, he served on the American Bar Association (ABA) Board of Governors. He is co-chair of the ABA Section of Litigation’s Membership and Marketing Committee, chair of the United States District Court Advisory Committee on Local Rules (Central District, Illinois) and president of the American Counsel Association.

Bertschy received his JD from GW in 1977 and his BA, magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois in 1974.
