650+ Alumni Gather in NYC for Evening with President Knapp

Oct. 29 was not just any other Tuesday evening for GW alumni in New York City.

A record number of attendees joined GW President Steven Knapp at the Waldorf Astoria for the panel discussion, “A Conversation on Public Health and National Prosperity.”

The “Reception with President Knapp” is an annual event that offers alumni a unique chance to hear insights from engaging speakers on a variety of topics, as well as to meet fellow Colonials in the area.

“To come here and see the international perspective, the health perspective, the financial perspective—and then to also see so many other alumni in the middle of New York City at a wonderful venue is a great opportunity,” said Madeleine Rumely, ESIA BA ’07.  “It can’t be missed!”

This was the first reception with President Knapp that Rumely attended; she was unable to make it last year but made a point of attending this year.

“I will definitely tell my friends to come next year!” Rumely said.

Following the lecture and panel discussion, alumni of all ages enjoyed a reception, where many were able to reconnect with each other, as well as meet new people.
