Soccer Alum Goes Pro in Sweden

Seth Rudolph

Another Colonial is going global — GW Athletics recently announced that Seth Rudolph, SPHHS BS ’13, will play soccer professionally in Sweden.

Rudolph, who received a degree in exercise science from GW, has singed with Sandvikens IF of the Swedish Football Association.

Rudolph will join former Colonials’ teammate Andy Stadler, CCAS BA ’10, who has played for Sandvikens for the last three seasons.  According to GW Athletics, it was Stadler who convinced the Sandvikens coaching staff to give Rudolph the audition.

After finishing up his last class to earn his bachelor’s degree, Rudolph trained with his former club team to stay fit while he waited for a professional opportunity.

“This is what I’ve always dreamed of doing since I was a kid,” said Rudolph, who ranks seventh all-time at GW with 29 career goals. “I am extremely thankful to Sandvikens IF for the opportunity, and I’m excited to play.”
