SPHHS Alumnus Elected to Board of Directors for American College of Physician Executives

Anthony Slonim, SPHHS MPH ‘99 & DPH ‘05, was recently elected to the board of directors for The American College of Physician Executives (ACPE). He was one of three new board members selected by the ACPE membership in late February and began his three-year term during the 2013 ACPE Annual Meeting in New York, NY, on April 26.

Dr. Slonim is executive vice president and chief medical officer of Barnabas Health as well as president of the Barnabas Health Medical Group. Prior to joining Barnabas Health in 2011, Dr. Slonim held several leadership roles in both the federal and private sectors and in a number of healthcare settings ranging from a freestanding children’s hospital and a large academic medical center to an integrated healthcare delivery network.

Dr. Slonim is currently a professor of medicine, pediatrics, preventive medicine and community health at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate studies at New York University, his medical degree at New York Medical College and his master’s and doctorate in administrative medicine and health policy at the GW’s School of Public Health’s Center for Health Policy Studies.
