Alumnus receives Next Generation Award from Metro Weekly

Washington, DC’s Metro Weekly recently named its 2013 Next Generation Award recipients–and a GW alumnus is among them.

The annual award, now in its fifth year, honors  “the achievements and potential of LGBT leaders under the age of 30.”

Michael Komo, CPS BA ’11, GSPM MA ’12, who is a GW LGBT Alumni Association board member and current GW law student, is recognized for his commitment to LGBT advocacy and activism.

Adding to the honor is the fact that alumnus Sterling Washington, CCAS BA ’95, served on the selection panel for the 2013 awards. Washington is director of the DC Mayor’s Office of GLBT Affairs
