Alumni Reception at Human Rights Campaign

On February 7th, alumni came together at the annual reception at the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, DC.

Hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations and the GW LGBT Alumni Association, the event featured an evening of conversation and networking for alumni and members of GW’s LGBT community.

The event also featured a panel of speakers who discussed the topic of marriage equality and defense of marriage act, including:

  • Kathleen M. Dumais, MVC BA ’80:  Alumna and member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 15; serves as vice chair of the House Judiciary Commmittee. Ms. Dumais was the floor leader for the support of same-sex marriage bill.
  • Dr. Bonnie Morris: GW professor of women’s studies.
  • Daniel O’Donnell, ESIA BA ’82: Alumnus and member of the NY State Assembly.

Graduating seniors from the class of 2013 were also invited to attend.
