Richard L. Byrne, LAW JD ’78

Richard L. Byrne, LAW JD ’78, has been elected president of The Webb Law Firm in Pittsburgh, Penn. The election was made by the firm’s Board of Directors. Byrne succeeds Russell D. Orkin, who was president of the firm for 16 years.

Byrne is an attorney who has addressed every aspect of intellectual property law during his 34-year career.  He received his JD degree from GW and a BS degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.  He was a clerk for the Honorable Judge Jack R. Miller for the United States Court of Customs and Patent Appeals (the predecessor to the current U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit).
