Barron is an experienced civil and criminal litigation attorney focusing on white-collar criminal defense and corporate compliance and investigations. He also serves as outside general counsel to businesses, government agencies, and non-profits. In his private practice, Barron draws on his experience as a former prosecutor and as a former advisor to the U.S. Senate and President Obama’s Transition Team.  Respected by his peers, Barron has served as a leader within the American Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, and the Prince George’s County Bar Association. He has been recognized by the National Bar Association as one of the nation’s best advocates and by the Daily Record as a “Very Important Professional.” He was also selected by Maryland Super Lawyers magazine as a “Rising Star.”

Erek dedicates his spare time to social justice issues with a focus on the delivery of effective legal services to the poor. He serves on the boards of directors for the Legal Aid Bureau, the Office of the Public Defender, as well as several non-profits dedicated to at-risk youth. Barron is a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park and the George Washington University Law School. He received his Master of Laws in international law at the Georgetown University Law Center.
