Nov. 12-16 is International Education Week (IEW), a joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of State and Education. IEW is celebrated in more than 100 countries worldwide, and is an opportunity to promote the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.

The Ecology of Education – Lecture with Dr. Laura Engel
“Indicators of Quality Education and the Dominance of PISA: Reflections from Europe”

Dr. Engel’s research focuses on globalization and its implications for education policy and governance, the policy uses of international large-scale assessments, and issues of social cohesion, citizenship, and immigration in Europe and the EU. She has published journal articles and book chapters on these topics, including the 2009 book, New State Formations in Education Policy: Reflections from Spain.
