Narda-Marie Meiling Newby, GWSB BBA ’91, married Malik Kenyatta Edwards in January at the J. W. Marriott hotel in Washington by Annice M. Wagner, a senior judge of the Federal Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

The bride, 41, is an in-house counsel at Steptoe & Johnson, the Washington law firm. She graduated from George Washington University and received a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a daughter of Jeanette L. Newby and Robert J. Newby, both of Washington.

The bridegroom, 38, is a trial lawyer at the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of Maryland in Baltimore. He graduated from Morehouse College and received a law degree from Yale. He is a son of Halisi Edwards-Trumpler of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Sikivu Edwards of Brooklyn Park, Minn. The bridegroom is a stepson of Shirley Edwards and of Benjamin Trumpler.
