Andy Irwin, LAW JD ’96, was promoted to partnership at Steptoe & Johnson LLP.
Irwin, based in Washington, D.C. and Century City, is a member of the firm’s litigation department and focuses on international regulation & compliance and government contracts.
He practices at the intersection of international regulatory compliance and public procurement. Much of his work involves conducting and managing sensitive internal investigations both abroad and domestically relating to potential export control/economic sanctions, anti-corruption or government contracting fraud violations, as well as representing companies in government enforcement matters. He also counsels clients in these areas, including regarding M&A transactions, as well as corporate ethics and compliance, and is a frequent speaker nationally on the FCPA, the ITAR, and wartime contracting. He is co-chair of the ABA Section of Public Contract Law’s International Procurement Committee and is co-editor of a book on the ITAR.
